The "Lakeside" Plan

A poster on another thread said I should address the "Lakeside" Plan:

That is easy, it makes no sense to me, how Mr. Traska thinks this makes sense geographically since that was one of his major complaints about Option E. I just can't get away from seeing this as nothing more than a way to keep the Option E people happy.

I was surprised to find (when I drove the routes) that it is only .5 difference from Lone Elm to North and Lone Elm to West but when students already live more than 10 miles from a school, why add any more miles?

I do not see the Lakeside plan as superior to Option E or an even acceptable plan. The board should go back to Option E, adopt it, with only 4 votes if necessary and MOVE ON to finishing this plan ---then take the ENTIRE plan to the public and see what people think of the whole thing.

While consensus is nice, this board is so unlikely to come together as evidenced by a workshop and retreat which doesn't appear to have resulted in consensus, though I guess we will see Wed. just where everyone is on this. I truly hope the Lakeside plan is NOT what the board ends up supporting. This one just doesn't seem to make sense to anyone, even those who are not at all affected.

You mention a 0.5 mile difference between the two schools, what was the actual time differential? Are we talking about a minute or are we talking about 3 or 4 minutes?

If it is only a minute it's hard not to consider this plan more heavily.

Someone said that the district would do well to decide if we want to divide the city East/West or North/South, rename high schools accordingly and move on. I'm beginning to think that would be a good jumping point.

People will shout about tradition. I want my children at West or I want my children at North, etc...we might need to remember traditions and make them just that, a memory.

Nice to see our board working on something a little more feasible now. Glad to see Michelle Monte quitting her committee. We don't need her putting on her nicey-nice face at the meetings only to get on her blog the next day bitching, printing half truths or less, and being the totally confused contrarian she's proven herself to be.

Speaking of Michelle Monte, what was with her shirt at the board meeting Wednesday night? Does she need to wear such low cut tops that her breasts are in full view of those attending in person and in front of the cameras? The only people spared from her haughty display were those listening on the radio station.

I wouldn't usually care what she wears but she had made it a point in the past to question or allow comments to be made about Mrs. Weinsheim's attire so this seems only appropriate. I suspect the only person interested in looking at her breasts is her husband so maybe that's who she should save them for and spare the rest of us. One can only hope she doesn't wear that to the church when she teaches those impressionable youngsters about God.

Becker must be dreaming or smoking something if he thinks they're actually going to get volunteers for other schools. Has he not been listening to all the bitching or the last how many months? Now he thinks people will just step up to the plate on their own??? No way will that happen.

The other telling part of this is Becker and others must be afraid to make a decision. They're the elected officials but they're going to let parents make decisions. Wow has he become a disappointment. I wish I could take my vote back and give it to someone else.

I highly doubt anyone who posts here would have voted for Becker.

Glad to see Mrs. Thiel is upholding high standards of commentary and language. SHe has lived down to many expectations this community expressed when they didn't vote her in for a second term, either time she ran.

Teresa, please put a stop to this garbage. No one can discuss anything of consequence with Monte and Weinsheim bashers taking over the world.

Gee I hope I spelled everything correctly, I don't want to be accused of being Michelle Monte.

What grade are these people in?

Evidently the same grade as you. Nice guess at who posters might be. Unfortunately you're not as smart as you believe you are and I see a lot of posters using similar language, phrases, and words. Nope, you don't even get extra credit points for your effort. The Monte clan taking shots at the same ol' people all the time is so like a simpleton. You'd think with their "intelligence" they'd have better guesses than that.

You know the last thing I want to do at 11pm is read about breasts... enough already, I really don't want to have to deal with comment moderation but I will if I have to...

Well since the Lakeside plan is off the table, this thread is old news... I'll start a new one.
